Bareilly: A high-level meeting regarding the beautification and development of Leelaur Lake was held at the Collectorate Auditorium in Bareilly under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Avinash Singh on Tuesday. The meeting focused on accelerating development works and ensuring improved infrastructure and visitor facilities at the lake site.
During the review meeting, the District Magistrate directed officials to complete all pending arrangements at the earliest so that visitors coming to Leelaur Lake do not face any inconvenience. He stressed the importance of developing the lake area into an attractive and well-equipped tourist and recreational destination.
Several development-related proposals and arrangements were discussed during the meeting. Officials were instructed to complete the process for allotment of fisheries leases and undertake plantation drives on forest department land surrounding the lake to enhance greenery and environmental sustainability.
The Tourism Department was also directed to develop key public amenities, including the construction of toilets near the cafeteria and multipurpose hall, along with other visitor-friendly facilities aimed at improving the overall experience for tourists and local residents.
To enhance the visual appeal of the site, directions were issued for the construction of a grand “Yaksha Lake Gate” and installation of decorative lighting arrangements for the night hours. The District Magistrate also emphasised strengthening safety and security measures at the location by setting up a police outpost and installing high-mast lights in and around the lake premises.

The meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer Devyani, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Aonla Vidushi Singh, Executive Engineer (RED), Fisheries Officer, Horticulture Officer, Mining Officer, Block Development Officers and several other concerned departmental officials.
The district administration aims to transform Leelaur Lake into a prominent eco-tourism and recreational destination, while also promoting environmental conservation and local tourism in the region.
